I grew up as an Army Brat, moved all around the world, and I’ve been to more schools than I can count. Through all of this, I’ve been blessed with seeing different cultures and meeting new people. I’m constantly looking to visit new places, try new things, and make new friends along the way. I think that this lifestyle has played an important role in my photography. To me, photography isn’t taking a still picture – it’s capturing a moment and telling a story – creating a visual memory of a specific event.
My photography career actually began after college. I graduated from CCU with a BA in Graphic Design and began working at a local business (Strand Media) where I designed ads for a magazine. As I used photos in almost every ad, I began to realize how important it was to finding that “perfect picture” – one that was not only composed well, but helped tell a story. I immediately became intrigued with learning more about photography so that I could incorporate my own photos into the designs.
I soon moved to Raleigh for new job opportunities (web design) and began shadowing local photographers on the side. As I learned more about photography from shooting different events, I also began to build my own style and interest. I’ve found that my love for kids shows through my work and I have always enjoyed interacting with families to create a fun atmosphere that captures their personalities.
My beautiful wife, Amy, assists me at almost every photoshoot and helps interact with the children. Her natural ability to bond with kids helps create a warm atmosphere and the kids love her! We look forward to each shoot like its a mini vacation and we hope that we can help capture some memories for you!
What Clients Are Saying
Andrew is a wonderful photographer and working with him is enjoyable and fun. He is creative and always does quality work with our pictures. He is patient with children and listens to ideas for pictures, as well. He’s flexible and completes the images in a timely manner. I would and have already recommended him to family and friends.
The disc arrived yesterday — we LOVE them. Thank you for doing such a wonderful job! Dani looks angelic and David looks so grown up. I’m having a hard time deciding which ones to frame. 🙂
